In the midst of all life's challenges, I began the fight of my life in 2017...This is my story...One day going to my check up at the doctor's office, I was told that my lab test came back, and I had been diagnosed with pre-stage diabetes. That day changed everything for me. I didn't know how I was going to lose the weight, or if I could do it. But I knew if I didn't want to become a diabetic, I knew I had to make some changes to save my own life. I asked my doctor who diagnosed me, but he said he couldn't help me, and that he was leaving it up to me to figure out. Well, I went home discouraged and had to figure out what I could do and what exercises will work for me? I started out with brisk walking around the neighborhood, I started eating for breakfast special k cereal, small cup of 2% milk, apple cider vinegar, 2 boiled eggs, slice of wheat toast, no sugar, no salt, 3 slices of grapefruit (above is the picture I took in 2019) Plan B Meals
My Love for my sister Carla was not enough to save her Life! Making this my lifestyle change and continuing to be committed and helping other people in the struggle of obesity; pulls at my heart strings because in my fight against obesity, the one person I could not save was my sister "Carla". When she saw that I began to drop weight she asked me what I was doing to lose the weight, I shared with her that I developed a mindset of determination, motivation and love for myself, a real go getter attitude, but most of all God First with daily prayer, I've always asked God to help me through my journey. Even though I was super busy working 12-14 hr. shifts as a 1st responder in the hospital.
I challenged myself to exercise daily for 30-45 minutes without delay.
I knew that she needed help but unfortunately being obese took her away from me at the age of only 46. I knew back then that none of this would be easy but I also knew I had to do something to help myself and so I was even more determined.
